Evelyn Waugh - Scoop - SIGNED First Edition 1938 - In the First Issue Dust Wrapper + Band

A first edition, first printing of �Scoop� published by Chapman and Hall in 1938. A very good book with some lightening to the spine and light wear. No inscriptions. A little spine fading and rubbing to the extremities. SIGNED by the Author on the front endpaper - �For Elizabeth Herbert/Evelyn Waugh�. In the first state dust wrapper with 'Daily Beast' to the front panel. Unclipped and has benefitted from some professional restoration to the spine and edges. With the rare wrap-around band, stating �Stop Press� - Chosen by the Book Society.

The recipient, Elizabeth Herbert was sister to Laura, the Author�s second wife (after Evelyn).
