A complete set of the twelve Flashman novels, all first UK editions, each signed or inscribed by the author, with two typed letters signed from Fraser to Dennis Wheatley. Comprising: Flashman (Herbert Jenkins, 1969), near fine in a very fine dustwrapper, signed George M Fraser; Royal Flash (Barrie & Jenkins, 1970), near fine or better in like dustwrapper, signed; Flash for Freedom! (Barrie & Jenkins, 1971), near fine, some foxing to the edges, in like dustwrapper, signed; Flashman at the Charge (Barrie & Jenkins, 1973), very good plus, heavy foxing to the edges extending in places into the text, in like dustwrapper, signed; Flashman in the Great Game (Barrie & Jenkins, 1975), near fine, with bookplate to front pastedown, in very good price-clipped dustwrapper, faded at the spine with short tear to the front panel, signed; Flashmans Lady (Barrie & Jenkins, 1977), near fine or better in like dustwrapper, inscribed To William / all good wishes / George Fraser; Flashman and the Redskins (Collins, 1982), very good plus, slightly pushed at the spine tips, in like dustwrapper, inscribed To Randy / George M Fraser; Flashman and the Dragon (Collins Harvill, 1985), fine in very fine dustwrapper, signed; Flashman and the Mountain of Light (Collins Harvill, 1990), near fine, with small rust mark to the fore-edge of the front free endpaper, in like dustwrapper, signed; Flashman and the Angel of the Lord (Harvill HarperCollins, 1994), fine in like dustwrapper, inscribed To Mike Connolly / George Fraser; Flashman and the Tiger (HarperCollins, 1999), very fine in like dustwrapper, signed; and Flashman on the March (HarperCollins, 2005), very fine in like dustwrapper, signed. Together with two TLS from Fraser, one from Glasgow, 13 May 1969, thanking Wheatley for his magnificent review of Flashman in the Glasgow Herald; the second from the Isle of Man, 27 December 1969, thanking him for his notice in the Daily Mail Christmas books selection. A highly desirable set. Fraser Macdonald was never an abundant signer, and signed copies of several of the middle and later titles are now distinctly uncommon; a complete signed run of the first editions, with contemporary signed correspondence relating to the first novel, is rarely encountered.
