Julia Donaldson [Axel Scheffler] - The Gruffalo - Gift Edition in Slip Case - DOUBLE SIGNED and DOODLED

A first edition of the Gift Edition published eight years after the [almost] unfindable Macmillan true first edition. A near fine book with full numberline 1-9 the same format as the Macmillan first edition, but bound in original green cloth, lettering to spine in gilt, illustration to front cover in silver surrounding mounted colour illustration, vignette to rear cover in gilt, illustrated endpapers. Housed in the original pictorial slipcase with a little wear and slight damage to one corner. Colour illustrations throughout by Axel Scheffler. SIGNED by both Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler who has additionally doodled the mouse�s head. Scarce with these attributes.
