From his book Tolkin wrote a screenplay then on to a movie version, The Player, with Tim Robbins, Greta Scacchi, Fred Ward, Whoopi Goldbert, Peter Gallagher, Brion Jams, and Cynthis Stevenson. He won an Oscar for the screenplay.
