A first edition, first printing of 'A Night To Remember', by Walter Lord published by Longmans in 1956. A very good book (one neat name) in a very good clipped wrapper with a little chipping to the spine tips and edges - some internal repair. A rare Titanic account. Accompanying the book is a photograph from 20th Century Fox of Titanic, hand-signed (and dated May 20th, 2001) by the youngest survivor aboard Titanic, Millvina Dean who was only 9 weeks old on the night Titanic sank. Also included is the rare Daily Graphic In Memorandum, produced shortly after the disaster. The newspaper is exceptionally frail and has chipping to the edges. \n \nThe Titanic disaster occurred on April 15, 1912, when the supposedly unsinkable ocean liner struck an iceberg during its maiden voyage and sank, causing the deaths of more than 1,500 people. Among the survivors was Millvina Dean, just two months old, making her the youngest passenger aboard. Her family had been emigrating to America in third class. They were placed in a lifeboat, but her father died in the tragedy. Millvina later became a symbol of the disasters human impact and remained its last living survivor until her death in 2009. \n \n
